The Tango developer workshop, led by Senior Software Engineer Eitan Marder-Eppstein, showcased the potential of augmented reality (AR) in storytelling through a three-day event that engaged a diverse group of participants, including independent filmmakers, developers, and major media company creatives. The workshop culminated in the creation of several new app prototypes leveraging Tango technology, such as The New York Times' 3D models to enhance news story connections and The Wall Street Journal's ViewPoint app for immersive, location-based storytelling. Other innovative projects included Line's AR characters for interactive experiences and Google's Mobile Vision Team's visualization of music vibrations. These prototypes demonstrated the diverse applications of AR in storytelling, sparking excitement for future developments and inviting more creators to explore Tango's capabilities through online resources and community support.
