Student applications open for Google Summer of Code 2018
Blog post from Google Cloud
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2018 has opened applications for university students worldwide who are interested in enhancing their software development skills through real-world experience in open source projects. Now in its 14th year, GSoC provides students with the opportunity to work from home on projects guided by a community of mentors, offering stipends for successful contributions. The program helps participants refine technical skills, gain confidence, expand professional networks, and improve resumes. Students can submit their project proposals until March 27, 2018, encouraged to start early by browsing participating organizations and developing strong proposals to increase their chances of selection. Additional resources and guidance are available on the program’s website, including timelines, FAQs, and a mailing list for discussions.
