New Google Web Elements released
Blog post from Google Cloud
In April 2010, Google introduced four new Web Elements—Sidewiki, Checkout, Wave, and Virtual Keyboard—designed to seamlessly integrate Google products into websites with minimal effort. The Sidewiki element allows users to post and rank comments on webpages without needing additional installations, enhancing collaborative discussions. The Checkout element simplifies the creation of an online store using Google Spreadsheets, requiring no programming skills, and can be set up in minutes. The Wave element facilitates embedding collaborative workspaces into websites for various uses, such as discussions and content publishing. Lastly, the Virtual Keyboard element provides an easy way to add an on-screen keyboard that supports multiple languages, thereby enhancing user interaction on websites. These elements cater to both novices and advanced developers by offering simple integration with the option for further customization through underlying APIs.
