Making stories with social media and YouTube videos
Blog post from Google Cloud
Storify, co-founded by Xavier Damman, is a platform that allows users to create stories by seamlessly integrating various web elements like tweets, YouTube videos, Facebook updates, and more through a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface. At Google I/O, Storify showcased how it utilizes YouTube's Data and Player APIs to incorporate video content into stories, emphasizing a JSONp-based method for retrieving and normalizing video data. This approach maintains content attribution and enables tracking of content dissemination online. Users can easily extract JSON representations of stories by appending ".json" to any Storify URL, facilitating advanced content filtering and visualization. The Storify Editor can be embedded into other sites to enhance community engagement, and future plans include opening a Sources API to enable developers to create sources for various services.
