Google Project Hosting introduced a feature in 2010 that allows software developers to respond to issue comments, code reviews, and wiki page updates directly via email, streamlining collaboration and communication. Previously, developers received notification emails with links directing them to respond on the platform, but now they can simply reply to these emails to address issues more quickly. This enhancement enables project committers and owners to update an issue’s status and other values, such as assigning ownership or adjusting priority, directly from their email client, thereby improving workflow efficiency.
