GDSC India’s Android Study Jams Boost Student Career Outcomes
Blog post from Google Cloud
Android Study Jams, organized by Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) chapters globally and in India, employ a peer-to-peer teaching approach to cultivate the next generation of Android developers, aiming to enhance student career prospects and prepare them for the Associate Android Developers Certification. Highlighting the journey of three Indian students, Amsavarthan Lv, Rishi Balamurugan, and Sanjay S., the program enabled them to acquire comprehensive Android development skills and confidence to advance in their careers. Through mentorship from the Google Play team and practical application development, these students, alongside 65,500 others who participated in over 800 sessions in India, learned about deploying apps to the Google Play Store and utilizing various Android libraries. The program not only boosts technical skills but also fosters career readiness and provides opportunities for facilitators to earn Google Developer Profile badges, with the potential to become Android Educators.
