Google, in partnership with Udacity and Andela, announced the Africa Web and Android Scholarship program, providing 15,000 scholarships to help develop employable digital skills in Africa. This initiative aligns with Google's pledge to train ten million Africans in digital skills and 100,000 in mobile development, as announced by CEO Sundar Pichai. The program offers 10,000 scholarships to beginners and 5,000 to professional developers across Android and mobile web development tracks. Participants will access online courses through Udacity, supported by the Andela Learning Community's mentorship and community engagement in Nigeria and Kenya. Completing these courses and actively participating in the community can lead to further opportunities, with the top 500 students earning full Nanodegree scholarships. The application deadline is April 24th.
