Organized by Google Developer Groups (GDG), DevFest events offered hands-on workshops, demos, and sessions covering the latest developer technologies and emerging topics, creating an inclusive and accessible environment for developers of all skill levels. The gatherings, held both in-person and online, prioritized diversity, equity, inclusion, and youth skills development, with some events providing mentorship and career support to early-career developers. DevFests were organized worldwide, from remote areas like Norilsk in Russia to major events like the largest DevFest in Pakistan, featuring diverse cultural elements and addressing local challenges. The initiative culminated in over 450 events across 90 countries, engaging more than 500,000 developers and fostering a sense of community beyond just technology, as highlighted by organizers who emphasized the importance of participants' feelings and emotions.
