Join us for Hacktoberfest 2021!

In October 2021, GitLab celebrated both its 10th anniversary and its participation in Hacktoberfest, an event aimed at boosting open-source contributions, by collaborating with DigitalOcean, the event's organizer. This partnership enables contributors to engage with GitLab-hosted projects through Hacktoberfest, with a simple sign-up process via the Hacktoberfest website using a GitLab account. GitLab has curated a selection of issues and epics for participants, from back-end and front-end development to localization and technical writing, encouraging contributions from both newcomers and experienced developers. To incentivize participation, GitLab offered swag to the top five contributors based on merge requests as well as to those submitting their first successful merge during the event period, enhancing community engagement and facilitating a welcoming environment for all contributors.
