GitLab updates its cookie management tool
Blog post from GitLab
GitLab is enhancing its user experience by unifying its cookie management tool across all its domains, deploying the OneTrust Cookie Management Tool from October 12, 2021. This update allows users to centrally manage their cookie preferences, opting in or out of non-essential cookies on various GitLab sites, such as docs.gitlab.com and about.gitlab.com. Additionally, a new cookie will be introduced to the trial signup and commerce flows within the GitLab application to aid in analyzing user engagement and resolving technical issues, though it will not track product functionality usage. GitLab remains committed to not sending service usage data to third-party analytics and continues to respect the Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism. The new tool will replace the existing cookie tool, requiring users to review and manage their cookie settings upon their next visit, with preferences retained per device and browser.
