Save time with our new AI-focused CLI Commands
Blog post from GitKraken
GitKraken CLI has introduced AI features under the new `gk ai` top-level command, including tools for generating changelogs, commit messages, pull request content, and checking subscription token usage. The changelog command compares branches or commit hashes, defaulting to the current branch and default branch, to summarize recent changes. The commit command can generate a concise message or, with an optional flag, include a description, supporting workflows outside the existing Work Items feature. The `gk ai pr create` command analyzes commits and code changes to suggest pull request titles and descriptions, with user confirmation before use. The tokens command displays AI token consumption, the subscription allowance, and the next reset date. These features are available through an updated or newly installed GitKraken CLI via package managers such as WinGet, Homebrew, and Snap.
