GitKraken Client v8.3: Now 2x Faster for Apple Silicon Users
Blog post from GitKraken
GitKraken Client v8.3 focuses on performance improvements across macOS, Windows, and Linux, led by a native ARM64 version for Apple Silicon Macs that replaces prior emulation and improves resource use, memory access, and thread management while preserving existing settings. Intel Macs running macOS Big Sur or later also gain faster child-process launching without requiring previous terminal-command workarounds, and an updated, customized Electron foundation improves speed, resource consumption, platform compatibility, and future feature delivery for all users. The release expands GitKraken Workspaces to GitHub Enterprise and GitLab Self-Managed repositories, enabling teams to organize, share, and act on multiple repositories. GitKraken CLI receives new terminal settings for default directories and line height, enhanced autocomplete for Git Flow commands, Git aliases, staged files used with git reset, and relative paths for git add, alongside automatic visualization panels for newly committed repositories, a terminal context menu, and customizable commit graph colors in themes.
