Introducing the New (and Improved!) Campus Experts Program
Blog post from GitHub
The GitHub Campus Experts Program, celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2021, has grown significantly since its inception in 2016, now encompassing a global network of students passionate about technology and community building through events like meetups and hackathons. The program aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students with industry-valued skills and providing resources and training for community leadership. Due to a surge in applications, GitHub has introduced a revamped application process focusing on motivation, interest, growth potential, and contribution, with requirements including the GitHub Student Developer Pack and formal higher education enrollment. The process includes an application form and a video resume, with applications opening twice a year. Accepted students undergo a six-week training program to develop leadership skills, with recent enhancements for clearer instructions and increased opportunities for mentorship and peer interaction, ensuring a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
