GitHub Availability Report: July 2025

In late July 2025, GitHub experienced an incident that caused degraded performance for GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) over a period of five hours and 34 minutes, due to a component being improperly removed during routine infrastructure improvements. This led to the need for new resource provisioning to resolve the issue, prompting GitHub to implement enhancements in recovery processes and testing. As a result, users are required to update their IP allow lists to include new GEI IP ranges and remove old ones, with notifications sent to those who conducted migrations in the past 90 days.
