A recent report from a security firm highlighted vulnerabilities in the social login implementations of prominent platforms such as Vidio, Bukalapak, and Grammarly, where insecure use of the "Login With Facebook" feature could have led to user account takeovers. Although the identified security flaws have been resolved, the incident underscores the importance of properly implementing OAuth tokens and using reliable customer identity and access management (CIAM) tools to safeguard user data. The article stresses that while standards for user authentication exist, they are complex and prone to misimplementation, as demonstrated in these cases.
