With the release of macOS 26.0, Fleet offers a free migration service for organizations transitioning from Jamf to Fleet, specifically for qualified enterprise customers with over 500 devices until the end of 2025. Fleet's delivery team manages the intricate aspects of the migration, such as exporting profiles, converting smart groups, and redeploying apps, thereby alleviating the workload on IT teams. The migration process aligns with Apple's Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) flow, ensuring devices re-enroll automatically while retaining user data and managed applications when feasible. The service currently supports seamless migrations for on-premise Jamf instances and includes features like profile and policy replication, software deployment, and continuous security and compliance monitoring. Fleet leverages Apple's best practices to maintain license continuity and VPP token migration within the 30-day window, and it emphasizes security with FileVault key escrow and new security controls. The Fleet migration process also benefits from GitOps for version control, canary testing for safe rollouts, and its open-source foundation, which future-proofs both migration and ongoing operations.
