What’s new from Firebase at Google I/O 2026

Google announced Firebase updates at I/O 2026 aimed at supporting agent-led, AI-assisted full-stack development across its own tools and third-party coding agents. Firebase Agent Skills now support Android, iOS, Flutter, web, Crashlytics, and Remote Config, with integrations in Google Antigravity 2.0 and Android Studio that simplify backend setup, code generation, security rules, and debugging. Google AI Studio gains Cloud Run deployment, natural-language access to Google Workspace data through Firebase Authentication, app export to Antigravity, and Android app generation, while a mobile AI Studio app is planned. Firebase AI Logic expands support for Gemini models and capabilities including Maps grounding, image controls, session resumption, context compression, stronger prompt and authentication protections, replay-attack defenses, and hybrid local-cloud inference. Additional Cloud integrations include a Firebase full-stack template for Application Design Center, enhanced targeting for Firebase A/B Testing, and upcoming web support for Crashlytics built on Google Cloud Observability.
