Monitor your Genkit features in production

Firebase Genkit Node.js 1.0 introduces Firebase Genkit Monitoring, a production observability tool designed to help developers track and troubleshoot generative AI features built with large language models. By installing the Firebase plugin, enabling telemetry, and redeploying an application, developers can automatically send data to Google Cloud Logging, Trace, and Monitoring and view it in the Firebase console. The monitoring dashboard provides feature-level metrics such as usage, success rates, p95 latency, and input and output token counts, which can help indicate costs, model behavior, and potential quality issues. More detailed feature pages, failed-path tables, and trace views allow developers to locate errors within complex multi-step flows, inspect inputs, outputs, latency, statuses, and models, and export traces for Genkit evaluations. The underlying telemetry remains accessible through Google Cloud services, supporting deeper investigation and integration with other application data.
