Monetize your game with the new Google Mobile Ads C++ SDK from Firebase
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase’s Google Mobile Ads C++ SDK, introduced in June 2022 as a replacement for the deprecated AdMob C++ SDK, modernizes cross-platform ad monetization for C++ apps and games on iOS and Android. It provides a unified API for banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads, standardizes full-screen ad interfaces and listener behavior, and uses automatic destructors to clean up underlying mobile SDK data. To improve stability, the SDK internally routes operations to the main thread, reducing threading complexity and potential crashes in callback-heavy game engines. Ad loading now returns detailed AdResult data through Futures, offering success status, request timing, mediation adapter information, and diagnostic error details for troubleshooting fulfillment or configuration issues. Enhanced rewarded-ad support separates reward handling from screen-management events, supports server-side verification to protect rewards, and allows individual listeners for each rewarded ad instance, enabling context-specific in-game reward behavior.
