Making great mobile games with Firebase
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase’s Unity and C++ SDKs are presented as tools for mobile game developers who want to avoid building backend infrastructure such as user management, storage, and server-side logic from scratch, with the Unity-based MechaHamster sample game available as an integration example. Google Analytics for Firebase provides player-behavior insights, real-time activity monitoring, advertising integration, and lifetime-value reporting, while Test Lab for Android can automate game-loop testing across devices when a demo mode is included. Firebase Authentication supports email, password, phone, and major third-party sign-in providers with cross-device user state. Remote Config enables developers to adjust game parameters such as difficulty without publishing a new build, and Realtime Database supports real-time, offline-capable storage and sharing of player-created content with authenticated access. Cloud Messaging and Dynamic Links can help developers notify targeted player groups about new content and allow shared links to direct new or existing users into specific in-game experiences after installation.
