Investing in Vue, Nuxt, and VueFire

Firebase has partnered with Vue core team member and vue-router author Eduardo San Martin Morote to develop a redesigned VueFire library that improves integration between Vue, Firebase, and Nuxt. The alpha-stage project introduces a Vue plugin for simplified Firebase initialization, reactive Composition API composables for services such as Firestore and Authentication, and continued Options API support for Vue 2.7 and existing applications. Planned capabilities include authentication-aware router guards, a dedicated Nuxt module for server-side data fetching, hydration, and authentication, broader support for Firebase services including Storage, Functions, Analytics, and App Check, and simplified Nuxt deployment to Firebase Hosting through the Firebase CLI. VueFire currently supports Firestore, Realtime Database, Auth, App Check, and Storage, while its forthcoming documentation, cookbook, and video course are intended to help developers adopt the library as it progresses toward a stable release.
