Introducing the Firebase Admin SDK for .NET

Firebase announced the general availability of its open-source Admin SDK for .NET, the fifth Firebase Admin SDK variant, enabling server-side applications to access Firebase services alongside the existing web and mobile client SDKs. Supporting .NET Framework 4.5 or later and .NET Standard 1.5 or later, the SDK can be initialized with Firebase service account credentials or automatically discovered Google Cloud application default credentials when running on Google Cloud Platform. Its initial functionality focuses on Firebase Authentication, allowing developers to create custom tokens that integrate external user stores and authentication systems and to verify Firebase ID tokens for secure backend authorization. Firebase invites developers to contribute through GitHub by reporting issues, requesting features, and submitting pull requests.
