How to set up Crashlytics alerting to monitor app stability
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase Crashlytics provides five stability alert types—new fatal and non-fatal issues, regressions, trending or emerging issue digests, and velocity alerts—to help teams identify crashes and prioritize incidents without continuously monitoring the console. New-issue alerts are disabled by default to limit noise, while daily trending digests are enabled by default, regressions highlight closed problems that return in new versions, and customizable velocity alerts identify issues rapidly affecting a significant share of users. Alerts can be delivered through the Firebase console, email, Slack, Jira, or PagerDuty, with integrations supporting either real-time visibility, manual issue creation, or automatic escalation. Recommended practices include using Slack for broad feeds of new issues, Jira for planned work and high-priority regressions or velocity incidents, and PagerDuty primarily for critical velocity alerts, while Cloud Functions can support more specialized workflows.
