Firebase databases now support SSL
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase announced SSL support for its databases as an initial step toward strengthening cloud application security. The update encrypts both the Firebase JavaScript client include and data transmitted between Firebase servers and users’ browsers. Existing developers must update their script source to the HTTPS Firebase client URL and change Firebase data reference URLs from HTTP to HTTPS, while new users are directed to updated documentation. Firebase also indicated that additional security-related features and announcements would follow.
