Firebase Cloud Messaging v1 Now Available from the Admin SDK

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), which delivers billions of notifications and data messages daily across iOS, Android, and web clients, has been updated with improved security and features through FCM v1. The new API is available through Firebase Admin SDKs for Node.js, Python, Java, and Go, enabling server-side applications to send messages and manage topic subscriptions. FCM v1 supports platform-specific overrides in a single message request, allowing developers to configure settings such as Android time-to-live values and iOS APNs priorities independently. The Admin SDK simplifies sending device or topic messages, including data payloads, and lets servers add multiple registration tokens to topics, with documentation available for supported languages and full payload options.
