Automate your pre-release testing with the App Distribution REST API
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase App Distribution enables teams to share Android and iOS pre-release builds with testers through the Firebase console, CLI, Gradle and fastlane plugins, or its REST API. The API supports custom integrations for managing testers, uploading and distributing binaries, updating release notes, deleting releases, and retrieving release or certificate information. One example is integrating App Distribution with an employee management system to automatically grant access to new employees and revoke it when they leave, using service-account authentication and the testers.batchAdd and testers.batchRemove endpoints. Teams can also audit access with testers.list and compare registered testers against internal employee records. Additional use cases include synchronizing release notes with bug trackers, adding testers through third-party tools, bulk-deleting releases, and obtaining details about recent releases, allowing pre-release testing to fit existing development workflows.
