App Hosting updates: rollbacks, SDK auto-configuration, and more

Firebase App Hosting’s March update introduces instant rollbacks, automatic Firebase SDK initialization, clearer build-error reporting, and VPC networking support for full-stack web applications. Instant rollbacks restore a previously deployed container image without rebuilding it, enabling faster incident recovery while preserving the environment variables, secrets, and runtime settings associated with that version. Automatic client-side Firebase initialization removes the need to include a Firebase configuration object when deploying through App Hosting, allowing the same codebase to work across development, staging, and production environments while reducing the risk of connecting to the wrong backend services. The App Hosting dashboard now displays build errors directly while retaining links to detailed Cloud Build logs. Apps can also connect to private resources such as Cloud SQL, Spanner, Memorystore, and internal services through direct VPC egress or serverless connectors, with configuration options designed to support reusable deployment settings across projects.
