App Hosting has faster deployments, route-based monitoring, and improved CI/CD setup
Blog post from Firebase
Firebase App Hosting has introduced updates aimed at improving deployment speed, application observability, and CI/CD flexibility for full-stack web apps. Its Next.js adapter now produces smaller server containers by limiting included files, with internal monitoring indicating average build times are about 30% faster. The Firebase console also adds route-based monitoring, enabling developers to track requests, errors, latency, and CDN cache hit rates for up to 20 important application routes, with rollout markers to help assess the effect of changes. In addition, existing App Hosting backends can now be connected to GitHub after their initial deployment, allowing teams to begin with local or Firebase Studio deployments and later adopt automated deployments through GitHub branches and pull requests.
