Announcing the Firestore Security Rules Simulator!

Firebase announced several improvements to Cloud Firestore Security Rules aimed at making database access controls easier to develop, test, and understand. The new Rules Simulator in the Firebase console lets developers test drafted rules before deployment by simulating document reads, writes, deletes, signed-in user IDs, and authentication tokens from different providers. The release also raises limits on get(), exists(), and getAfter() document access calls from three to 10 for single-document requests and to 20 total for multi-resource requests such as batched writes. In addition, Firebase published expanded reference documentation covering the Security Rules language, including its syntax, built-in types, functions, and edge cases, to support developers writing more complex conditions.
