A few updates on privacy and security
Blog post from Firebase
Following the May 25 implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Firebase introduced updated GDPR-oriented terms, including Data Processing and Security Terms, and enabled projects to designate a Data Protection Officer or EU representative through the Firebase or Google Cloud console. Firebase also cited certifications under ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, and SOC 1, 2, and 3 standards. To support privacy practices, it added a Privacy and Security section, guidance for managing Instance IDs, and recommendations for clearing, exporting, and storing user privacy data. Google Analytics for Firebase received additional data-management guidance, console sharing controls, and an API for deleting data tied to an Analytics App Instance ID, while Firebase directed users to a Google I/O enterprise session and technical support for further assistance.
