Lightning is a groundbreaking tiling engine developed to resolve the longstanding trade-off in GIS systems between fast map rendering and data editability. Built on the open-source Tippecanoe engine, Lightning allows for instant editing of millions of geospatial features while maintaining the high performance of pre-generated tiles. Lightning's merge-on-demand architecture integrates base tiles, an edit database, and a dynamic tiling engine to enable real-time updates and consistent performance across any dataset size.
