How to measure agent readiness
Blog post from Factory
Agent readiness evaluates how effectively a codebase supports autonomous coding agents by assessing factors such as repository structure, available tests, documented conventions, and guidance for agents. Factory’s Agent Readiness Model produces an actionable score that identifies the signals improving or reducing readiness, allowing teams to compare repositories, monitor progress, and prioritize investments. Readiness can be measured for individual repositories through the Droid CLI’s `/readiness-report` command, improved with `/readiness-fix`, tracked organization-wide through the Factory dashboard, or integrated into automated workflows through the Readiness Reports API. By regularly measuring, addressing high-impact gaps, and monitoring for regressions, teams can determine which repositories can safely support greater agent autonomy and longer-running tasks.
