A Healthier Way to Snack on UI Work
Blog post from exe.dev
The author describes “snacking” on small, satisfying product improvements as an appealing distraction from more difficult core projects, particularly through UI work rooted in their front-end engineering background. To channel this impulse productively, they built Radiant, an agent-driven, Figma-like tool that generates high-fidelity UI mockups from prompts while grounding designs in the capabilities and existing styles of the current codebase. In a redesign of a user dropdown, Radiant used Claude Fable to inspect the implementation, incorporate existing styling, and offer feasible design alternatives rather than inventing unsupported interfaces. After selecting a mockup, the author used Radiant to generate an implementation prompt that another Claude Fable agent successfully used to complete the change in one attempt, demonstrating a rapid workflow from code-aware design exploration to implementation.
