Havells brings multilingual voice control to connected home ecosystem with ElevenLabs
Blog post from ElevenLabs
Havells has launched Agentic AI Voice Mode in its Havells One smart-home app, providing natural conversational control for connected appliances across eight languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, and Malayalam. Built with ElevenLabs’ real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech technology alongside Havells’ proprietary device-control agent, the feature replaces rigid command-based interactions with context-aware, multilingual, and code-mixed conversations that can control individual devices, rooms, or multiple appliances at once. The system supports capabilities such as follow-up commands, ambiguity clarification, error-code explanations, device orchestration across connectivity protocols, and conversational feedback. Havells selected ElevenLabs after evaluating voice platforms for accuracy, multilingual performance, latency, and naturalness, then moved from prototype to production rollout in about six weeks with support for voice tuning in regional languages. Available to the app’s approximately 2.7 million-download user base, Voice Mode is intended as a foundation for future personalization, broader language support, automation, troubleshooting, scheduling, and expansion into the wider Havells ecosystem.
