On World Stroke Day, the ElevenLabs Impact Program announced its partnership with Stroke Onward to assist stroke survivors in reclaiming their voices through advanced voice restoration technology. Each year, about 12 million people worldwide experience strokes, often leading to speech impairments, and this collaboration aims to make voice cloning and Text to Speech tools available to those affected, allowing them to communicate authentically. Stroke Onward, founded by stroke survivors, helps individuals navigate the emotional and identity challenges of post-stroke life, and their new Stroke Onward Community Circle (SOCC) provides an online space for survivors, caregivers, and professionals to connect over the emotional aspects of recovery. The partnership emphasizes that recovery is not just physical but also about rebuilding identity and connection, with voice technology playing a crucial role in enabling individuals to express themselves and participate fully in conversations.
