This tool, which is currently being tested by ALS patients, features a circular keyboard to minimize eye strain and employs predictive AI to convert typed words into speech, allowing users to communicate more naturally and maintain their personal identity. The technology harnesses the capabilities of D-ID's lifelike avatars, IrisBond's eye-tracking, and ElevenLabs' advanced voice AI to recreate the user's unique tone, thereby addressing the limitations of previous voice banking methods. Disability advocate Erin Taylor demonstrated the tool's capabilities by speaking at the event, highlighting its potential to empower individuals with ALS, aligning with the vision of Dr. Peter Scott-Morgan to use technology to overcome challenges faced by those with severe disabilities.
