Projekt Kalwaria, a Polish nonprofit, is using advanced technology to digitally reconstruct the Ujście Calvary, a historical hillside complex destroyed during World War II. By digitizing over 300 archival documents and using 3D modeling, the team has recreated the site's topography and several stations, winning awards for their design. These digital reconstructions are transformed into narrated video experiences using ElevenLabs Text to Speech, allowing multilingual access without the need for multiple voice actors. The narrated films, enhanced with AI-generated audio and video, are shared on YouTube, reaching a broad international audience. The project aims to further engage visitors through a mobile app and virtual reality, making the historical site accessible worldwide. This initiative highlights how AI technology can help preserve cultural heritage, enabling small volunteer teams to produce high-quality content and ensuring the survival of historical sites for future generations.
