Nick Keats talks transitioning out of the military and how Elastic supports veterans

Nick Keats, a senior technical consultant at Elastic, transitioned from a military career as a combat engineer and paratrooper to a civilian role in the tech industry, with support from the Army's cyber protection training and the Skillbridge program, which aids military personnel in securing civilian jobs. Initially trained in cyber defense, Nick gained experience with Elastic tools like Kibana during his service, which facilitated his move into the tech sector. Despite the challenges of finding a new purpose after leaving the military, Nick found support through Elastic's Mil-asticians ERG, a group for veterans that helped him adapt to civilian life by providing a sense of community and shared experiences. Now, as a full-time technical consultant, Nick uses his skills to engage with clients, solve problems, and teach best practices, drawing on his military experience of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
