Elastic Cloud has introduced an enhanced health reporting capability for deployments on stack versions 8.4 and above, focusing on improving user experience when handling Elasticsearch cluster issues. This new feature provides detailed insights into the health of various components such as shard health, master node health, snapshot lifecycle management, and repository integrity, with a dedicated health page within the Elastic Cloud console. By utilizing the Elasticsearch Health API, users receive comprehensive information directly through the UI, allowing them to understand the severity, description, and impact of issues in terms commonly used by users, such as search, ingest, backup, and deployment management. This approach is designed to facilitate easier diagnosis and resolution of issues with specific troubleshooting instructions, reducing the need to contact support. Elastic Cloud plans to expand this capability by introducing additional indicators like disk utilization and guided troubleshooting guides in future releases to further assist users in maintaining healthy deployments.
