Khalil Corbin on how the arts helped shape him — and led to his communications career

Khalil Corbin's journey to a communications career was significantly influenced by his passion for the arts, particularly music, which served as a motivational and inspirational tool throughout his life. Before joining Elastic as a Senior Manager of HR Communications in late 2023, Khalil worked in the public sector and wrote for music blogs, ultimately finding his calling in communications after seeking guidance from mentors. At Elastic, he appreciates the company's "As, YOU, Are" culture, which celebrates diversity and inclusion, particularly resonating with him as he is often the only Black person on his team. Khalil also plays an active role in Elastic's Black History Month events, aiming to educate and celebrate the impact of art within African American culture. Influenced by his godmother’s achievements, Khalil remains disciplined in his career and continues to give back, demonstrating how the arts have shaped his personal and professional life.
