Elastic’s Forge the Future Hackathon 2026 brought together Indian developers to create production-ready AI applications using Elasticsearch for hybrid search, context engineering, and real-time monitoring, culminating in awards at Elastic{ON} Mumbai after a Bengaluru finale. From 8,000 registrations and 300 submitted ideas, 20 shortlisted teams built enterprise-focused solutions evaluated for scalability, reliability, live-data handling, and resilience to complex edge cases. Team Frustrated Engineers won with Vigil, a multilingual system that audits financial sales calls for SEBI and AMFI compliance violations and links flagged statements to exact audio timestamps and regulatory clauses. Team Sandboxed placed second with Eyewitness, which detects frontend user-experience failures through signals such as rage clicks and abandoned checkouts, then provides engineers with replay evidence and backend context. Team defcon1 placed third with MediAudit-X, a medical-insurance claims platform that extracts and reviews hospital documents, cites policy rules and treatment history, and creates a tamper-proof audit trail. The event highlighted India’s capacity to build scalable, multilingual, auditable enterprise AI systems, supported by collaborations among Elastic, AWS, Sarvam AI, Nasscom AI, and HackCulture.
