This RUM JS agent allows developers to gain insights into the end-user experience by monitoring client-side performance metrics such as "Time to First Byte" and domInteractive. Unlike backend agents, the RUM agent focuses on real user interactions within frontend applications and is designed to work with any JavaScript framework. Developers can report monitoring data to an APM Server and access it through Kibana for a comprehensive view of application performance. Elastic is also planning future enhancements like distributed tracing and framework-specific information for popular frontend frameworks.
