Christine Weng on why she took time to explore and reflect before pivoting from accounting to tech

Christine Weng transitioned from a career in tax accounting to technology after realizing her interest in automation, problem-solving, and process development. Initially exploring tech consulting within her company, she found a passion for technology stemming from limitations in her previous accounting tools. To better equip herself, Christine pursued a master's degree in computer science and joined Elastic's security threat hunting team, where she applies her problem-solving skills to enhance customer experiences through improved data and visualizations. Despite her change in career path, Christine finds similarities in her daily tasks, such as collaborating with product managers and UX/UI teams, coding, and testing. Encouraging others to explore their interests, she reflects on her shift from aspiring data scientist to software engineer, advocating for pursuing one's passion in technology.
