Canvas is a creative and extendable space for live data, designed to be flexible and allow users to manipulate elements connected to data through a simple UI or raw CSS, providing a blank canvas for data visualization. Despite being in its early stages, Canvas offers a compact interface where users can interact with data expressions, manipulate styles, and create visual elements using a pipe-based syntax, though some features like Elasticsearch aggregations are still in development. The tool supports working with raw Elasticsearch documents for charting and is set to integrate with X-Pack Reporting for enhanced functionality. Users are encouraged to experiment with its capabilities and provide feedback through the dedicated micro-site, which offers installation instructions, educational videos, and articles to facilitate learning and exploration.
