Dynatrace has announced the general availability of their SAP ABAP real user monitoring extension, which provides insights into SAP application and transaction performance, making it easier for non-SAP Operations engineers to understand and address performance issues. The extension offers real user experience monitoring for SAP ECC and S/4HANA, enabling users to identify and resolve performance incidents quickly by reporting on every SAP T-code execution. This allows for better collaboration between SAP Basis teams and Operations engineers by providing a common understanding of performance issues. The tool helps in assessing problem impacts, focusing on pressing issues, troubleshooting individual user sessions, and understanding the root causes of degraded response times. Dynatrace's solution is non-intrusive, easy to set up, and provides immediate access to performance indicators without requiring SAP server instrumentation. Additionally, the extension supports Citrix real user monitoring, allowing for comprehensive performance measurement of both the SAP application and its delivery channel. The extension is fully supported by Dynatrace and can be installed on an ActiveGate, with remote access to the SAP ABAP server as a prerequisite.
