Hybrid cloud infrastructure is a prevalent strategy among businesses, with over 90% of companies adopting it to balance the use of public cloud services like Amazon Web Services, Google Public Cloud, and Microsoft Azure with traditional on-premises systems. This approach offers the flexibility to handle applications that are not easily migrated to the cloud, while benefiting from the scalability and agility of public cloud resources. Challenges in modernizing traditional applications, especially those on IBM Z platforms, can arise due to middleware integration complexities. To address these, IBM introduced the z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition, which bridges z/OS assets with cloud-native functions. At the Perform 2022 conference, Alexander Huetter highlighted the role of the Dynatrace observability platform in managing hybrid cloud environments by providing end-to-end insights across diverse technology stacks, including IBM Z. Dynatrace aids in identifying root causes of issues, assessing business impacts, and prioritizing fixes using AI-powered insights. The platform continuously enhances its capabilities, such as IMS Fast Path transaction tracing and open observability through OpenTelemetry, to offer comprehensive performance insights and support for hybrid cloud infrastructures.
