In late January, the author participated in the Perform event in Las Vegas, an annual gathering hosted by their company, Dynatrace, which brings together customers and partners to explore the company's products and industry developments. During the event, the author co-hosted a series of Hands-on training (HOT) classes focused on building custom apps using Dynatrace's AppEngine, attracting around 1,500 attendees from diverse industries. These classes offered participants practical experience in app development, with a focus on a hypothetical app called EasyTrade Analytics, which highlighted the versatility and broad applicability of Dynatrace's products. The author gained valuable insights from face-to-face interactions with attendees, who ranged from novice to experienced developers, and observed the universal interest in custom app development. The event featured presentations from company leaders, including the CEO and CTO, and offered engaging activities such as breakout sessions and performances. Overall, the author found the event to be a revitalizing and educational experience, providing a deeper understanding of customer needs and the potential of Dynatrace's offerings.
