Platform-as-a-service (PaaS) environments like Cloud Foundry, Azure, and OpenShift offer the advantage of automatic scaling for applications, allowing more instances to handle increased traffic. To ensure that dynamically created application instances in production match those tested in pre-production, Dynatrace has enhanced its OneAgent update mechanism. Users can now specify a target version of OneAgent to be automatically applied to new hosts and applications detected in their environment, ensuring consistency. This version control can be set at the environment level or for individual hosts or groups, and it applies to all new Kubernetes nodes and workloads as well. This feature ensures that the specified OneAgent version is utilized for monitoring new hosts and is automatically applied to PaaS instances created during load spikes, and is also used when restarting applications. This version specification extends beyond Dynatrace PaaS integrations and applies universally across all hosts.
