Summary

Business process observability is crucial for tracking the health and performance of critical business processes, serving as the backbone for digital transformation. Dynatrace Business Flow enhances this by linking top-level process KPIs to detailed flow analytics, allowing the tracking of process instances, performance, throughput, exceptions, and outcomes. This system employs Davis AI for anomaly detection, alerting users to KPI threshold violations to ensure process efficiency and reliability. Despite advanced IT observability, anomalies like delays or failures can still occur, impacting various business outcomes. Real-time observability helps minimize these impacts by quickly detecting anomalies and providing the IT context necessary for rapid remediation, which is increasingly important under regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). Business Flow allows users to configure alerts for four key process KPIs—conversions, errors, average duration, and custom metrics—using Davis AI Anomaly Detection, which offers static, auto-adaptive, and seasonal threshold analyzers. The new version of Business Flow supports continuous KPI analysis, enabling users to manage anomalies effectively and optimize processes, with future updates promising to accommodate longer-running process flows.
