In June, a project reached 5K stars on GitHub, prompting an update of their goal to 10K stars by year-end. The surge in popularity is attributed to good market fit for innovations in in-memory stores and state-of-the-art engineering using novel algorithms and data structures. The team plans to focus on maturing Dragonfly and extending its APIs while continuing to build the best in-memory store possible, acknowledging that stars are just an initial metric.
